“Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance. Great dancers are great because of their passion.” – Martha Graham.
I’m delighted to provide a glowing testimonial for Jarry Glavin. Having had the privilege of knowing her for years, starting from our training days at the Royal Ballet School, I can confidently say that her teaching prowess is second to none. Her four-year tenure at BDC Bath Dance College left an indelible mark on both the institution and its students. Jarry’s ability to inspire and connect with her students is truly remarkable. Her classes were eagerly anticipated and her teaching methods consistently yielded exceptional results. Beyond her professional excellence, Jarry’s warmth and genuine nature make her an all-around amazing individual. I wholeheartedly endorse Jarry Glavin as a dedicated, talented, and deeply impactful teacher.
— George Hill – Artistic director – Bath Dance College
I was fortunate enough to be taught by Jarry for the two years I attended Bath Dance College, and I still refer to her teaching as a pivotal part of my performing career. Not only is she a creative and passionate teacher and choreographer but she is also a wonderful and inspiring human.Jarry is one of the most tentative and caring teachers I have ever encountered. Whether you are looking to pursue a dancing career or you are simply dancing for enjoyment and to move your body around, Jarry creates the most fun yet safe environment, where you can explore your creativity and dance your heart out! I couldn’t recommend a more amazing teacher!
— Laura Hayes – Bird College graduate
What makes Jarry so special as a teacher is her ability to see every student as an individual and not try and box you in. She can get the best out of people because of this belief in everyone’s unique artistry. Jarry has an incredible understanding of technique and complimenting this with breath and performance. Her classes are challenging and fun, I felt a sense of accomplishment after every class. This is due to her own creativity and the thought she put into her exercises and her engaging delivery. She taught me ballet, jazz, contemporary and yoga and her high level of experience was inspiring. It helped me begin to see all dance styles as connected – rather than deciding I was better suited to one more than another.Jarry’s knowledge of the body means you can have confidence in a safe practice, her strengthening and flexibility exercises are well rounded and help considerably to improve your mobility! After five years of full time dance training and exposure to renowned choreographers, Jarry remains one of my favourites because of her talent as a choreographer and the exciting but comfortable environment she creates. Dance is a special art form and by learning it from Jarry you’ll be learning it from one of the best.As a dancer I found relaxing into the movement and trusting in my ability difficult. I had Jarry for additional private lessons in choreography and improvisation to help me tap in to a freedom of movement. After these lessons a peer approached me and said I don’t know what you’ve been doing with Jarry but it’s working and you’ve transformed. These lessons continued (following guidelines) during lockdown and seeing her kind and bubbly self every week was a true joy.
— Florence Boventer – L.I.P.A graduate (Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts)

Jarry has been a true inspiration to me during my time at Bath Dance College. Not only did she massively enhance my dancing techniques, but she also helped me grow in confidence as both a person and a performer. I am incredibly grateful for all the valuable lessons and support she provided.
— Esme-Lily Fox – Institute of Arts Barcelona
To be taught by Jarry is a blessing. She taught me so much about how much passion and emotion you can convey in dance. How one simple move can mean so much if done with passion!!! The energy in her work environment makes you feel so comfortable and at home. Anyone who gets to be taught by her is beyond lucky!
— Alice Stachiewicz – London Studio Centre Graduate
Jarry played a pivotal role in my training at the beginning of my professional journey, inspiring me to push my limits and capabilities in jazz and contemporary classes. She mixed professionalism and fun perfectly – creating classes that were an utter joy to be part of and I owe a lot of my success within the performing industry to her.
— Finn Collinson – Performers College graduate – currently performing on Celebrity Cruises
I started dance at 16 which was quite late and having Jarry I couldn’t have had a better mentor. She always gives constant support and has such a vast knowledge of the industry. She helped me so much with my auditions – helping me get into my dream schools (which I know I couldn’t have done without her).I cannot thank her enough as she really is the best teacher and such an inspiration.

Teaching dance is often a delicate balancing act; to encourage a young person to instil a dedication and perseverance in their life, as well as simultaneously building up their confidence to express themself. A large responsibility. Jarry has always navigated her teaching with such ease. In my time learning under her wing, my confidence and technique grew immeasurably. I always felt safe and cared for and in turn I grew to love dance and the environment Jarry had created. I grew my own voice, technique and empathy for others in the space, and these have been skills she instilled as a fundamental of my character and my career.
— Tim Firmin – Rambert Graduate – Ballet Boyz
I began training with Jarry after only dancing for a year. Jarry helped nurture my technique and performance whilst building my confidence in myself as a dancer through dance and yoga. Jarry’s lessons are a safe space to grow and develop as a person and as a performer. I cannot recommend Jarry enough!!!
— Abi Harvey -Bird College Graduate – currently performing in The Tiger Who Came To Tea – West End
I genuinely feel so thankful and beyond lucky that I’ve been taught by Jarry. She not only provides the most amazing classes that improve your ability and confidence but also makes such a warm and friendly environment that it made me fall in love with dance even more.
— Elaina Gomme – currently at Laine Theatre Arts
Jarry was one of my first teachers when I started dancing at 17 years old. Starting so late to dance was very daunting but Jarry’s classes were always so supportive, fun and challenging in the best way. Not only did she help me find my passion and love for dance but I improved massively and with her guidance successfully auditioned for drama school. I couldn’t recommend her enough.
— Deya Jaques – currently at PPA (Performers Preparation Academy)
I was taught by Miss Jarry during my time at BDC and can confidently say that classes with her were some of my favourites. Her classes were always incredibly beneficial but also great fun, offering students a safe space to train and create. Jarry is a brilliant teacher and creative choreographer and we were really sorry to lose her input when she moved to Cornwall. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her classes for anyone, whether you’re looking to dance for fun, or train more seriously.
— William Markendale – currently at Laine Theatre Arts
Could not recommend Jarry’s classes and teaching style enough. After being taught for 2 years by Jarry I was then able to get accepted into my dream dance school Urdang in central London. All her classes were fun, technique driven but still creative and I cannot thank her enough for the great support alongside every class.
— Amy Cray-Edgell – Urdang Graduate
I honestly cannot recommend Jarry enough as a teacher! For my time training at BDC she helped me build confidence I never thought I’d have. I was constantly in awe and inspired by Jarry’s talent and loved every lesson she taught. Throughout covid we had 1 to 1 lessons which were just amazing and I owe so much to Jarry for allowing me to find and develop myself as a dancer. I wouldn’t be where I am without her.
— Amelia Dommet – Bird Graduate performing on Royal Caribbean cruise/understudy Rizzo
Jarry really helped me find confidence in my dancing, and was definitely one of the main influential figures for my ever growing passion. Her lessons were always fun, original and motivational and she has massive respect for everyone’s individuality inside and out of the studio.

“The most important thing I have learned over the years is the difference between taking one’s work seriously and taking one’s self seriously. The first is imperative, and the second disastrous.” – Margot Fonteyn.
